A Clinical Study of Bone Graft using Kiel Bone

Abstract
In the treatment of fractures, the bone graft has been performed for the treatment of delayed or no - union of fractures.
For the purpose taking advantage of a heterogenous bone graft, the bone grafts by using Kiel bonwere performed.
The 26 cases by using Kiel bone graft and 23 cases by using autogenous bone graft which were ad mitted and treated at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of Hanyang University Hospital from September 1983 to September 1984 have been reviewed and analyzed.
The results were as follows:
1. In 23 of 25 cases (88.5%) by using Kiel bone and 23 of 23 cases (100%) by using autogenous bon: graft, fracture healing occurred completely.
2. In the cases grafted by using Kiel bone, the grafts of inadequate bed or by using crushed Kiel bon: were failed or delayed in fracture healing.
3. It thinks to be possible to predict the fate of the grafted bone by using the bone scan, but it must research into a study thoroughly.
